Pool Water Care

How do you start?

When you open your pool or start the enzymes for the first time you add 2 ounces per 10,000 gallons of water the first and second week. Then you skip week three and add 1 ounce per 10,000 gallons every other week during the season, (week 4, 6, 8, etc…). As you get ready to close your pool, you add 2 ounces per 10,000 gallons the last two weeks then close the pool.

The only other thing you need to watch is the PH and alkalinity. They will tend to stay on the higher end of the scale and you will need to bring them down periodically. Maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.6 and alkalinity between 80 and 120.

In case you forgot how many gallons of water your pool holds here is a good idea:
For rectangle pools the formula is Width x Length x Average Depth x 7.5 = Gallons

The chart below may vary depending on depth.

In a normal year, (cold climate) 16 one ounce doses will need to be added. So for a 10,000 gallon pool you need 16 ounces a year, a 20,000 gallon pool would need 32 ounces. A pool used year round will need about 29 ounces per 10,000 gallons the first year and about 26 ounces every year after that. A swimming pool open year round, but used seasonally will require about 20 ounces of products.

The pool enzymes come in 3 sizes:
