Check Pool Water First Thing In The Morning

Check Pool Water First Thing In The Morning

Regularly checking swimming pool water is an essential part of keeping it’s water clean and safe. We believe the optimal time to test pool water is first thing in the morning.

Then, after testing your pool water, you may find that you’ll need to adjust certain chemical levels to bring them within acceptable ranges. Acceptable ranges include:

  • 7.2 – 7.8 pH
  • 80 – 120 parts per million (ppm) Alkalinity
  • .5 to 2 ppm Chlorine (when using Waters Choice Enzymes for Pools)

It’s interesting to note that Muratic Acid and Soda Ash are useful chemicals for controlling pH and alkalinity. Use soda ash if you need to increase the pH and muratic acid if you need to decrease pH and alkalinity.

If you don't want to go to the trouble of finding those products simply click HERE and purchase pH Up, pH Down, Sanitizer, and Test Strips for your pool. We have fast shipping and will get them to you quickly!

After taking action to bring chemical levels into acceptable ranges, wait at least 24 hours before testing your pool water again. The chemicals you’ve added may take up to a day to have their full effect. After testing the next day, adjust again if necessary.

Because you’re already a loyal customer, you’ll know that Waters Choice has a specially formulated monthly concentrated enzyme as well as a concentrated weekly enzyme application.

Pool Water GREEN at Opening?

If you find that pool water has a little green in it at opening, increase the chlorine levels of your pool by adding chlorine, if you’re adding liquid swimming pool chlorine, add it to the water by walking around the pool with the gallon jug as low to the water as possible to minimize splashing.

If you find you still have a tint of green in your water, don't hesitate to use our Phosphate Remover for Pools. In addition, vacuum your pool floor and walls weekly. It’s important to make sure you check filter pressures as well.

If filter pressure is over 40 pounds from where it started, you’ll need to backwash your pool filter.

On the other hand, if you happen to have cartridge filters, you may simply need to clean them by using a high pressure hose and our Pool Aqua Comb to ensure you are getting between the pleats of the filter.

As a side note, Waters Choice now has a remarkable product called the etube or better known as the Buzz Off Ion Shield.

Transform Your Pool Into a Bug-Free Oasis

This innovative product creates a negatively charged barrier around your pool, making it a space that insects will naturally avoid.

Two tubes treat up to 10,000 gallons of water and offer protection for an entire pool season.

Best of all, it’s chemical-free, easy to use, and pet-safe, ensuring a clean and comfortable poolside experience

Simply add 1 tube per 5,000 gallons of water to the pump basket, skimmer, or both.  The tubes do not need to be in any particular position just throw them in.  As your pool circulates the ion exchange will happen.

**Keep in mind that it may take a couple of days to start seeing the results.
