What are phosphates?
Phosphates are chemical compounds containing the element phosphorus, commonly combined with oxygen. Phosphorus serves as a food source for algae. If not mitigated, it can lead to algae growth, necessitating the use of a phosphate remover to maintain water clarity and quality.
What is our concentrated phosphate remover?
Our concentrated phosphate remover features lanthanum chloride which is proven to be the most effective and powerful solution for eliminating phosphates from your pool water. When introduced into the water, the product may cause a temporary white cloudiness in the treated area, indicating elevated phosphate levels. This cloudiness typically persists for 24-48 hours, with the duration influenced by the initial phosphate levels in the water.
The product is designed to react with all known types of phosphates upon contact, causing them to harden. As a result, the phosphates will no longer remain in solution but instead precipitate to the pool floor. Then, it can be easily removed through vacuuming or filtration.
Follow the chart as recommended:
|
Reduction in Phosphate
2,000 ppb | 5,000 ppb | 10,000 ppb
5,000 | 4 oz | 8 oz | 16 oz | |
10,000 | 8 oz | 16 oz | 32 oz | |
20,000 | 16 oz | 32 oz | 64 oz |
· Start with all levels in the proper ranges and freshly cleaned/backwashed filter.
· Add to water using dosage chart. Apply to as much of the surface as possible.
· Run filtration system for 24-48 hours. Water will turn milky color indicating higher levels of phosphates. Do not swim if water is cloudy. If filter pressure raises 10 psi clean or backwash filters.
· After 48 hours clean or backwash filters again and retest. Re-apply if needed.
First Aid: If in eyes rinse the water. Remove Contacts if worn and continue to rinse thoroughly. Call a physician if irritation persists. On skin: Wash thoroughly with plenty of water.
If swallowed: Contact a physician immediately. Contains Lanthanum Chloride. If conscious, consume large quantities of water or milk.

Q: How to use Phosphate Remover
- If you have a phosphate reading of 200 ppb or more in your pool water, you will need to add a phosphate remover.
- First, backwash or clean your filter.
- Then calculate and add the amount of product needed according to the phosphate remover label.
- Run your filter system for at least 24 hours.
- If your filter pressure increases 10 psi over normal, clean and backwash filter.
- Let water sit for 12 hours then retest.
- Apply again, if needed, following the same directions.
- Vacuum pool floor.
- Reapply enzymes.
